Purpose: This web site has been authorized by the Palm Beach County MS4 NPDES Steering Committee as a resource for all co-permittees within the county. It is intended that this site will provide the user with helpful information on understanding and complying with the requirements of the NPDES permit.
Monitoring Program
The monitoring requirement in the NPDES MS4 permit is met through a joint program. The 2nd term permit required that a monitoring plan be submitted to and accepted by FDEP. The monitoring program includes the following components:
water quality sampling
water quality data analysis
summarization of water quality improvement programs within the County
trend analysis
pollutant loading calculations in Permit Year 3
Water quality sampling is performed by Palm Beach County ERM. Water quality sampling data collected by FDEP is also obtained and included in the analysis.
Reporting on the monitoring program will be done in the Joint Annual Report, submitted with the co-permittees’ Annual Report Forms each year.
